How does fast food have an impact on my life and life style? Well growing up with my grandmother, we didn’t always have much money so there wasn’t much spent on fast food, but more on groceries and what we needed. Close by where I lived there was McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King and Carl’s Jr., so there was plenty of opportunities for me to go out and buy fast food, but rarely did. When those rare times would come, my grandmother and I would get McDonalds. She loved their fries and I loved their chicken nuggets. So we would get a twenty piece chicken nugget and large fries and share the meal together in front of the TV usually watching Wheel of Fortune. This fast food occasion didn’t happen all the time, but when it did it was a treat and it was enjoyable to have once in a while.
As soon as I moved in with my parents and siblings I noticed that fast food is really good and makes you crave more of it. When I used to live with my grandmother there was no option of Taco Bell or McDonalds, but with my family it was different. Whenever my mom came home late or didn’t want to cook, there she was giving us kid’s money to go get something to eat. I guess fast food was a way out and a way to grab something to eat when there was nothing to cook at the house. Unfortunately fast food is quiet common with me. I drive and carry my own money, so whenever I’m hungry and already out driving, I’ll stop by my favorite place, Taco Bell. I like Taco Bell because you can get a lot of food for not a lot of money. When I’m really hungry I get 4 tacos, a bean and cheese burrito and nacho chips with cheese. That gets me full for hours and would only spend about six dollars for the meal. Another favorite of mine is Panda Express. Orange chicken and white rice can make me happy.
I don’t rely on fast food as much as I did when I was younger because now it’s my own money and I need that money for gas or supplies I need, but I could say I do eat it a lot. I do like to cook so if there is something to make at the house I would make dinner for the whole family rather than spend my money on a craving I have. Fast food is always tempting and more of treat so whenever I feel the need of some fries or orange chicken, I look at my refrigerator first and see what I can make for myself and my family.

Danielle's Blogg
Hello, I’m Danielle Hernandez and I would like to talk about my past, who I am today, and what I want to accomplish in the future. About my backgrounds, I’ve lived here in California my whole life; I’m 100% Mexican American with a family of five and three rescue dogs. As a child I had the privilege of a wonderful home, family, and friends. I wasn’t your average angel daughter who played with her dolls, but more of a tom boy that spent time with the boys outside. I went through hardships with death of my great grandmother, grandfather, friends and relatives, went through the obstacle of who I am, and trying to figure out how my family would except me for me, but all these struggles made me who I am today.
Speaking of who I am today, I’m seventeen years young that is very happy with my life. I’m a hard working student athlete. I work in Ventura, a full time student here at Oxnard College taking 15 units, and play for the girls’ basketball team here. I have a busy schedule so on my free time I spend it with my best friends either going out, or simply hanging out at each other’s houses eating each other’s food. I try to live life to the fullest which my parents may not like, but you only have one life so why not take some risks and have fun. I’m not a serious person what so ever, I like to laugh and make others laugh as well. There’s a lot to who I am, very social and outgoing.
I see myself in the future as a successful woman who has her head on straight and who enjoys her career. I wouldn’t prefer a “sit behind a desk” career, but if I enjoy it and like what I do then I wouldn’t mind. As for after college, I would like to continue playing basketball, but if that doesn’t happen then I’ll start on whatever career I want to pursue because If I have my mind set on something then I’m going to go through it and succeed. In ten years I would like to have a house with my family and live as my parents do with no worries of finance and a full family and pets. I see myself as happy as I am right now if not more in the future and for sure not going to let anyone get in the way of my happiness and success.
