What i think of FastFoodNations!?

Fast Food Nations is not a book I would normally read, but glad I did. Throughout the book it has valuable information and helpful facts on fast food and the backgrounds on the companies. Without this book I wouldn’t know what really is in meat, how they handle the livestock, the employees, why we love fries so much and much, much more. Personally I hardly eat fast food, but this book made me NOT want fast food even more. The fact that I know how the food is being processed makes fast food unappealing and quit gross. I would have to say I’m a semi-vegetarian; I’m weird when it comes to the meat I eat. So the affect that this book has on me isn’t strong, but makes me think twice on fast food meat/food. The main issue that I don’t like is the way they handle the live stock they use for the meat. Since I don’t like meat as it is, I care about the way they handle their animals; they fatten them with unhealthy food, and slaughter them in an inhumanity manner. I love animals so feeding them fatty foods to make them have “more meat” isn’t right or good for us when we eat it. Overall Fast Food Nations can probably change the way person eats for the better of them

Chapter 10 ffn questions

Global Realization
1.       The history of Plauen gave us readers notice that that part of the city was bad in the fact that they have bad water (sleepy backwater). The author ended with McDonalds in East Germany because that’s where the majority of their customers were; college students.
2.       Other than health, importing entire systems of agriculture production I also being harmed.
3.       A McDonalds at Dachau is controversial. Chose this because there was a McDonald’s one-third of a mile from the entrance to the concentration camp. It gave McDonalds business with the Wild West theme yet also made it seem like McDonalds supported the Holocaust.
4.       Changed the health habits of other countries because it gave them more reason to be anti-meat, anti- fat ect.
5.        Dangers of obesity are fast food and the impact it has on us; how we can be addicted to unhealthy fast food. For us not obese help those who are and make more food at home.
6.       KFC’s and McDonalds companies and industries were damaged. The most popular and most American fast foods were targeted. The “unknown” was controversial to consumers and many questions about McDonalds were asked

:/ miss him

Just the Way You Are – Bruno Mars
This song means a lot to me. It’s cute, adorable, personal and genuine. This song was dedicated to me from a long lasting ex boyfriend, friend and overall best friend. He was the person I went to when I felt upset, when I’m excited, or simply just needed someone to talk to.  I won’t say his name because now he is resting in peace, but I truly miss him and miss his voice; about him though I don’t mind describing. Tall, handsome, gorgeous, FUNNY, great listener, gave great advice, and overall a real person who’ll tell you how it is without sugar coated anything. Known him for years and he is truly missed and loved by many.
Probably heard this song. It’s quit popular and on the radio frequently… hope you like it.

Oh her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Yeah I know, I know
When I compliment her
She wont believe me
And its so, its so
Sad to think she don't see what I see

But every time she asks me do I look okay
I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

Her nails, her nails
I could kiss them all day if she'd let me
Her laugh, her laugh
She hates but I think its so sexy

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Oh you know, you know, you know
Id never ask you to change
If perfect is what you're searching for
Then just stay the same

So don't even bother asking
If you look okay
You know I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are
Girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

ab0ut Ruzanna

This blog is going to be all about my classmate, Ruzanna Marghoosian. She is from Armenia, Georgia and has been in the United States for three years. I had asked her, “Why America did you decide to continue school here?” she replied “Because I want to work here and to work I need a license in Medical Field and I chose the Physician Assistant because it’s close to a doctor.” College here in America means that she can continue her education and get her license to work here.
Her schedule consists of Tuesday and Thursday English class from 11:30-12:20, work and her down time. On her days off from school she works in Human Services; helping the elder. When she’s not at work or school, she spends time at home with her Husband and In-Laws either watching a movie or simply relaxing. She finds it easy to balance out work, school, and family.
Ruzanna adores her passed mother. She’s not just a mother to Ruzanna, but a friend and teacher. I had asked Ruzanna if she considered herself a role model or mentor for someone. She replied back, not only did she say she was a role model but the fact that her job has to do with helping others make her more of a mentor.
In three words Ruzanna described herself as kind, giving, and a good listener. Her philosophy to succeed in school is to “close your eyes and go for it!” If something is difficult for you and you want to give up, close your eyes, take a deep breath and continue. As in take your time with school work and don’t feel as stressed.
Since Ruzanna is not from the United States, she finds herself noticing that here in America that the teaching and studying is much different than Armenia. She says that there are more books and tools to study here, which she enjoys and takes advantage in using. What she likes about Oxnard College is the quietness, positive and helping teachers. She would like to see more programs here, but the ones they do offer are helpful for her and help her towards her license. She was surprised how much homework she gets, but with her being a dedicating student she has her ways in getting her work done.
At the end of my interviewing I had asked Ruzanna if she has anything to add; “I have about 2,000 patients in Armenia in my clinic. I’m married and want to get my physician license here in America. I need ten years of education in the United States to get my license, and I’m ready for my dream to happen. After my license my husband and I would like to start a family, but until then I’m going to continue working hard and succeed my goal in getting my license. “

Text iit---Danielle

People text when they’re in class, walking, doing homework, eating dinner, and pretty much anywhere, anytime they can. Texting is a form of communication. Some use it rarely, others use it daily. Personally I use texting because I don’t want to hear the person’s voice or simply because it’s easier when the conversation is short. I prefer to text because I’m usually busy and can’t talk on the phone.
If you think about it…if you were to actually talk to the people you text, you would probably feel uncomfortable or have awkward moments. Through texting that doesn’t happen. People have time to think about what they want to say or even if they want to text back or not.
My dislikes about texting: I dislike the fact that when a person texts you “Hey, what are you doing?” I reply whatever it is I’m doing and ask them what they are doing. They text back with whatever they’re doing and that’s it. I think to myself “So what was the point of texting me...To see what I was up to?” I don’t understand, and frustratingly I get those kinds of texts often. Another dislike would be when people take forever to text back (I’m being sarcastic, of course but you get the idea). My last dislike would be when you have your phone in your hand, you’ve been texting for a while and once you put it in your pocket…you get a text. I think “Really?!! I just put my phone away and you decide to text me?”
Texting….everybody does it I think. Enjoyable, simple and sometimes annoying.

RealityShows- DaniGirl

Reality shows are eye catching, but also full of unnecessary drama that personally is funny. For instance, I watch Jersey Shore and on an episode the main character Angelina didn’t do the dishes as her roommates told her to. So when the boys came home with groceries and saw the dishes not done, roommate Mike decided to give Angelina a piece of his mind. Yelling at Angelina, she got mad and harsh words were exchanged. This is a reality show about partying in Miami and having a good time with roommates. Instead of arguing about something simple as dishes being washed, these characters decide to start drama/fights with others; personally I don’t know why.

Another reality show I enjoy watching is Bad Girls. It’s a show obviously about “bad girls” who come into a house with 6 other bad girls and for us viewers to see what happens as they party, go out and see what they get themselves into. In one particular episode the Bad Girls are simply at the beach when these random girls decide to curse and throw sand towards the Bad Girls. Main character Morgan proves to these random girls that she and her roommates are not people you want to tempt. Words are firing back and forth and next thing you know, there’s a girl fight at the beach.
To me most reality shows are amusing, interesting and dramatic. I watch them simply because I find drama unnecessary and funny. Other reality shows I watch are Ocho Cinco: The Ultimate Catch and True Life. I don’t watch reality shows very often, but when I do it’s more of a “guilty pleasure” for the fact I wouldn’t put myself in situations as these characters do on TV and I have low/if any drama in my own life. These types of shows are neither beneficial nor harmful for society. It’s just a TV show that catches one eye and interests many people. I wouldn’t take TV shows in general serious for the fact television so for someone entertainment/amusement.

Danielle's food=]

How does fast food have an impact on my life and life style? Well growing up with my grandmother, we didn’t always have much money so there wasn’t much spent on fast food, but more on groceries and what we needed. Close by where I lived there was McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King and Carl’s Jr., so there was plenty of opportunities for me to go out and buy fast food, but rarely did. When those rare times would come, my grandmother and I would get McDonalds. She loved their fries and I loved their chicken nuggets. So we would get a twenty piece chicken nugget and large fries and share the meal together in front of the TV usually watching Wheel of Fortune. This fast food occasion didn’t happen all the time, but when it did it was a treat and it was enjoyable to have once in a while.

As soon as I moved in with my parents and siblings I noticed that fast food is really good and makes you crave more of it. When I used to live with my grandmother there was no option of Taco Bell or McDonalds, but with my family it was different. Whenever my mom came home late or didn’t want to cook, there she was giving us kid’s money to go get something to eat. I guess fast food was a way out and a way to grab something to eat when there was nothing to cook at the house. Unfortunately fast food is quiet common with me. I drive and carry my own money, so whenever I’m hungry and already out driving, I’ll stop by my favorite place, Taco Bell. I like Taco Bell because you can get a lot of food for not a lot of money. When I’m really hungry I get 4 tacos, a bean and cheese burrito and nacho chips with cheese. That gets me full for hours and would only spend about six dollars for the meal. Another favorite of mine is Panda Express. Orange chicken and white rice can make me happy.
I don’t rely on fast food as much as I did when I was younger because now it’s my own money and I need that money for gas or supplies I need, but I could say I do eat it a lot. I do like to cook so if there is something to make at the house I would make dinner for the whole family rather than spend my money on a craving I have. Fast food is always tempting and more of treat so whenever I feel the need of some fries or orange chicken, I look at my refrigerator first and see what I can make for myself and my family.
